38 kitchen sink shut off valve

Whenever you plan to replace the shut-off valve under your kitchen sink or work with anything related to the water supply, your work is to switch off the water supply line. You have to remove it from the actual valve. This will ensure that while you work, the water will not come out of the pipe. In short, it locks the water. There are also other shut off valves to turn off water to specific fixtures. These are the shut off valves you see under the kitchen and bathroom sink, on the wall behind the toilet, behind the washing machine and on outside spigots. Showers may or may not have shut off valves.

I'm using channel lock pliers, but no matter how hard I push it won't loosen. Edit: I got them off! Just took some 18" pipe wrenches, and some juice.
